Before this year ends, I would like to document the highlights of my life first on you my dear blog...
This year:
... I got married, January 4, 2011 - changed my name
... I got my first Job in America, May 2, 2011
... I got my California Driver License September 20, 2011
... I got my green card which makes me legit
... I got to learn how to figure out the twang of the American Accent
... I felt at home and seriously didn't feel homesick anymore
... I learned how to establish my credit
... I learned how to style my hair a little bit, I learned how to make curls
... I learned how to put on make-up (but I am doubtful about this)
... I paid off my credit card bills in the Philippines
... Was able to break honey's laptop thrice
... I lost my Nokia E71 the day it decided not to turn on anymore, it was a birthday gift from Honey on my 26th
... I was able to splurge on really good cosmetics, above $20
... I got the most painful tooth ache in the whole wide world and I couldn't do anything about it because I didn't have dental insurance yet
... I got free contraceptive pills from the State of California good for 9 months, until they rejected me for my income when I declared my monthly last month, so last month I started paying $30 a pack
... I learned how tough customer service could be in America, and its effect on the one rendering the service, it makes me paranoid
... I've seen my husband broke down into tears for the first time
... I was able to get what I really wanted for my birthday, my Nikon D7000
... I was able to do a lot of online banking and I had to suffer some charges of $10 for over-activity... Banking could really be expensive in here
... I did a lot of online shopping that Zappos.Com made me a VIP customer and gave me access to VIP offers
... I got paid $20 for blogging for the very first time
... I got to experience working two jobs
... I learned how to cook and bake
... I learned how to appreciate GPS
... We finally subscribed to Netflix
... I experienced cleaning other people's houses for money, while I was waiting for my work permit to arrive
... I got to appreciate life in America, its not easy, its almost all work, but at the end of the day you know you're better off here than anywhere else
... I got to experience the first long road trip with Honey going to LA, and I didn't like it, we better fly next time
... I celebrated my first boring New Year in America, and now I am welcoming a new one! Wishing for a better 2012!
